Molly Burchard

I am inspired by geometrical shapes and psychedelic themes. These are just some experimental pieces of mine, working with natural flow, bright colors, 3D shapes, and geometrical patterns. at some point i will collaborate the skills i have gained from these three different pieces, as well as the ones i have yet to create.

  2. I would consider collecting some Native American designs, stories etc. that can become a focal point to your sculptural hand sewn work. I also have a book on paper sculpture that will definitely inspire you.

  3. Check out the Peabody Essex museum on Shapeshifting, Native American art.

  4. I personally have really gotten into geometrical shapes and psychedelic themes and I've seen quite a bit now appearing on fashion too. The box is a really cool way to manipulate the idea/theme and I think it would be cool to but the patterns on different items other than just a box.

  5. I am really intrigued by these almost geometrical shapes. I think what you are working on currently has a lot of potential because you are sort of blending some Native American art with African art as well. I personally would encourage you to use these artistic methods but perhaps on a different medium, what about cloth? Overall, I think it's awesome! :)
