Spiral

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jWAa7EigJRs

I thought that this video was really cool because the person made an incredible spiral painting only with their fingers and by spinning the top.

Galaxy Painting

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5ciZ09g3ti8

I thought that this was a really cool way to use watercolor to paint the galaxy. I also painted a galaxy painting and it made me think of the different techniques that could be used to paint it again and see what the differences are in the way that the look.

Abstract paintings

I thought the movement of this painting was really cool, and i liked the colors that he used as well.

I liked techniques that he used to drip the paint and add texture.

I liked this video and how we were able to meet the artist  and she took her through her ideas and project. It was nice to see the challenges and how she was able to overcome it to produce the wall. We saw it from her view using the go-pro. Nice to see the different techniques used.

Hot Glue Mixed Media

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KB7doYrBdBk&spfreload=10

I wanted to share this video because I think hot glue is such a valuable mixed media material- having used it in the past, I wanted to bring more attention to the option and the dimensions it can add to a project.

Mixed Media Walk Through

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FCJWAeLShGI

I chose this tutorial because not only does it incorporate a number of different materials, but also played with texture and tone- it's a very in-depth demonstration of the layering that plays such a big role in mixed media art.

Inflatable sculpture option

TRY SOMETHING NEW!

Ms. Hom-Mandell's attempt at inflatable sculpture

Check out Art 4 projects for more info about how to make an inflatable

Snow play

The level of engagement in a piece between artist and audience here is astounding- and what is most astounding is the beautiful result! Simple things like dots can really turn into trademarks, while providing endless versatility.

I really like the different techniques and the way the artist did the project on a book. The leaves make a great touch to the the mix media art piece.

High school student who wants to teaching art

I am a Weston mom with 2 art-loving daughters in sixth and second grades.
I would love to find a art-loving high schooler who would be interested in coming to our house after school now and then.

It wouldn’t be babysitting as I would be home. It would be more of an opportunity to be artistic and guide my daughters in their own projects. (DeCordova year-round art programs were great while they lasted) If you have any ideas I would love some names or any assistance finding interested students.

Thanks,
Susan
I love the way this mixed media art work turned out, it looks vintage and modern at the same time. I love the straps, and how every piece is a clever little thing, commonly used for other things.
I really like the way this video incorporates multimedia without being collage-y about it, how a lot of mixed media art is (not bad, just different)

Student personal growth checklist

Checklist for Student Growth project
Name

Notes
Read student process pages. Type up 2 comments on student’s pages.  Write a positive comment on what is working and a comment on what they could consider.

Find student’s process pages that inspire you. I suggest scrolling down at least 3-5 pages from the process page to view former student work. These students typed up an artist statement which became the backbone of their series.

Print out at least 4 images that you are interested in creating a photo transfer. Make sure to also email to self for reuse.

Use PIINTEREST  to gather more inspiration imagery

If time allows, blog 2 Artshare videos.  Mixed media tutorials?
