Libby Menders

Libby Menders

Recently I've been doing a lot of work with cut paper and some of the shadows that it creates. Also with the way cut paper shapes fit together. I'm having trouble on making it seem like it is cohesive. The pieces that I am working on all have something different in them and I was wondering if there was a good way to string them together. I have also been really interested in marbled paper and I haven't found a way to add to it.

  1. I love how she combined the defined, geometric cut out shapes with the organic shapes of the watercolor!

  2. The detail in the cut paper is so proportional and precise, and the idea of combining it with layers and watercolors is really interesting. I love the first photo of the watercolor with many different colors - I think you should incorporate that one with one of your cutouts.
