High school artists needed!

I'm with the Friends of  the Weston Public Library. On  Saturday, June 13 from 10:00 am - 4:00 pm, we are going to sponsor a community-wide celebration to kick off the library's summer reading program. This event was a huge success last year. We plan to offer music (HS group), entertainment (professional magician or similar), refreshments and a book sale. We would love to have some HS art students involved - the younger kids really look up to them, and it should be good exposure for the older kids.

Our themes (based on the summer reading themes) are "Every hero has a story" and "Escape the Ordinary". We'd like to have a couple of HS students face-painting with that theme in mind (maybe asking the younger kids who their hero is and paint a symbol of that - e.g. a fireman's hat or batman's mask).  In addition, we wondered whether a HS student could draw caricatures of kids as their choice of hero.  We're open to any ideas that fit the themes. Do you think any of your students might be interested in volunteering for this event?

Thanks so much for considering this.

All the best,

Sara Haradhvala
