How to string and hang paper cranes

How to make a paper crane mobile

We could start with a painted mural of figures releasing a box of birds to fly away -- and then kind of fading out of the wall/ceiling along the path of painted birds, paper cranes hanging from the ceiling could jump out of the wall like they're actually flying away. Each senior could get a piece of origami paper to do whatever they want with -- write their favorite memory, future aspirations, funny quote, just a name or doodle, whatever -- and then we can make the flock of paper cranes out of these to represent our grade kind of releasing into the world. 3D aspect of bringing the cranes out from the wall and over people's heads in the hall could be interesting.

  1. I think this would be a good senior art project because it represents how the seniors are leaving the schools and going their separate ways. Furthermore, this idea showcases each individual student, as a crane, and also shows how they can be seen as one unit too.
