1st New Bedford Whaling art exhibit

Hi there, 

Your students are invited to participate in our 1st New Bedford Whaling National Historical Park art exhibit from August 1 - September 30, 2017. Canvas will be provided to you for FREE and will be mailed to you once you've reserved your spots. 

5 spot limit per school. 

Exhibit theme: "Strength in Diversity in your Town"

Collaboration among students is encouraged. Let me know if you need any grade specific examples for technique ideas of past submissions. View over 4,800 past art submissions on Flickr here. This program is part of The Dream Rocket project, details below.

Program Overview

New Bedford Whaling National Historical Park Art Exhibit

Exhibit: August 1 - September 30, 2017

Art Due: Tuesday June 20, 2017 (postmarked by the end of the day)

Theme: "Strength in Diversity in Your Town"

New Bedford's diversity is legacy of 'Whaling History' and a belief in 'Progressive Values'. The question is how will that diversity alter the future of the city from this point on? Will New Bedford's diversity strengthen our future or divide the city?

Note: Your art just needs to reflect this theme is some way, literally or in broad brushstrokes. Perhaps you reference to the town that you live in.
