3-D Pumpkin Art

In honor of Halloween, this is a time lapse of pumpkin being shaded into an amazing 3-D face. I thought it was so cool how this person is able to work with the pumpkin to create this face, and spend so much time on it when it will only last for a short period of time.

Charcoal Drawing

I love the simplicity of this artwork, I love the fact that I can make any kind of story out of it, its very mysterious and yet the artist gives enough structure to see the movement or the gesture if that makes any sense. Also nicely done with placing the dark tone in the back.

Stickwork

I chose this video because it is something people usually don't see, the use of tools and manipulation of the spray paint is very impressive and in the end makes a really cool surreal scene.

Blog Post #2

I like this video because I love the simplicity of the flowers and the smooth strokes the artist takes when she's painting. It looks so easy and the outcome looks so beautiful.

I really liked how well the contrasts meshed in this drawing- the bright color and the black and white were strong, but they added the effect of the other as opposed to cancelling each other out. I love how simple the forms are, because their dynamics aren't sacrificed.

Isabella C's artshare post

This is a video of latte art. I really like this post because you can see the process the barista takes when making the latte art. Can also show how even though it may not like good during the process, the final product is great.
Video 2
I like this video because of the process and of the different techniques used by the artist. Using the different pencils and shading. The piece comes to life. Can relate to people who are doing the landscape for their next project

Katie's artshare post

This video is really cool and I like it because the person plays with light and shading to create the floating illusion.
This video is so cool because street are is so interesting, It takes a lot of talent and these guy have it. It really looks like a hole in the ice, the lines that they drew in the beginning really makes the optical illusion work.

Detailed eye time lapse

Love the detail that is used, I like the blend of the charcoal, water color and pencil

art video

This video is very creative and interesting, that is very un traditional art. She starts out by using all different colors of the rainbow together and using different brushes and techniques. She uses her fingers a lot and mixes colors and creates her own patterns. She also incorporates water to get a dripping effect. Then she uses a smaller brush it make small details and turns into an abstract painting.

How Painting Can Transform Communities

Similar to eL Seed's TED Talk, this TED Talk demonstrates how the travels of two friends resulted in the use of art to upscale a slum in Brazil. Once again, talks like these remind all of us that our interest in art can have a significant effect on the communities where we live. Art is a necessity for humanity, and thus, the study and application of art is necessary for the betterment of humanity. A good thing to take note of as we go out into the world as young adults!

"Street Art for Hope and Peace" by eL Seed

This TED Talk by eL Seed (about 6 minutes) demonstrates the power of art to create peace in communities. He hopes to use the beauty of Arabic script in public spaces to break stereotypes about Islamic culture and faith.

The artist in this video is doing a similar project as what we are doing in class, a still life drawing with charcoal. I really like the way you can't immediately tell what the artist is drawing but it all comes together in the end. It means thats its ok if your art doesn't look perfect the entire way through, the process can be messy but the finished project will turn out the way you want it to. The only thing I wish was different about this video is that I wish you could see the still life that the artist was working on so you could understand their thought process throughout the entire project.
